I began this week visiting Larbert High School, after I was invited to meet with their new Rector, Mrs Wilson, and to find out more about the work being done to embed Developing the Young Workforce practices. You can read more about my visit in my previous post at: https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=1142411514361480&set=a.377949410807698

On Monday I met with NHS Forth Valley to discuss CAMHs and adult autism/ADHD assessment pathways. Several constituents have advised me they are unable to been assessed or are seeking clarity on the process. I will be taking forward some points with the Scottish Government following this meeting, and will remain in constructive contact with all parties regarding this issue.

This week the Scottish Parliament voted on one of the most significant Bills we will consider this term. I have been contacted by constituents on all sides of the debate - thank you to everyone who contacted me to share your thoughts and experiences ahead of the Stage 1 debate. I voted in favour of the general principles of the Bill – Stage 2 of the process now allows further scrutiny into the detail of the Bill and for amendments to be made, with the Bill coming before the Parliament again at Stage 3 for final consideration of the Bill as presented. At this point I will make my final decision as to how I vote.

I asked the First Minister at FMQs about the reported trade deal between the US and the UK, and the impact on Scotland. You can watch my question and the First Minister’s response in my previous post. I will watch carefully as the Scottish Government’s support for exporters recently announced in the Programme for Government is progressed.

The CPG on Women in Enterprise held a roundtable In conjunction with the Association of British Insurers, Women’s Enterprise Scotland and Royal London. Discussions focused on Allyship training in the workplace. Diversity, equity, and inclusion awareness training in business can create a better working environment, providing opportunities to progress while feeling supported.

Finally, I met with College Employers Scotland to learn more about their work. The impact colleges have as employers cannot be underestimated – good tutors and opportunities lead to talented students entering fantastic roles, thus promoting economic growth.
